Stephen Anderton

Advisor on garden designers and landscape designers

Stephen is the long-standing garden writer for The Times, as well as a broadcaster, lecturer, author and founder member of the influential group ThinkinGardens.

Trained originally in Drama and then Landscape Design, he worked for many years in historic gardens where, latterly as National Gardens Manager for English Heritage, he was responsible for several major restoration projects. His most recent book, a controversial biography of Christopher Lloyd, was published in 2010.

He lives with his wife and three daughters in the Black Mountains of Wales where he is creating a landscape garden of 20 acres.
