Construction authority Aidan Mortimer joins RedBook Advisory Board

—3rd March 2020

The RedBook Agency is delighted to welcome veteran building expert Aidan Mortimer as a new member of its distinguished Advisory Board. Aidan started his career in the building industry more than four decades ago, initially setting up his own business in Oxfordshire in 1980, specialising in historic building restoration, before joining a large family-owned building company, where he rose to become Chief Executive.

During his career Aidan managed a wide range of contracts including major refurbishment projects for Oxford colleges, large private residential schemes and a series of construction projects for the chef Raymond Blanc at the Michelin-starred restaurant and hotel, Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons.

Aidan now works as an advisor across a range of firms and organisations in the construction sector, including the Chicago-based construction firm Bulley & Andrews, and is a non-executive director on the Group Board of Jarvis in the U.K.

A keen historian with a passion for architecture, Aidan is a Fellow of The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, the Chartered Institute of Building and The Royal Society of Arts. He sits on the judging panel of the Prince of Wales’, ‘Building Craft Apprenticeship Scheme’ and is a governor of the Building Crafts College in London.

Sandy Mitchell, founder and director of RedBook, warmly welcomes Aidan to the Advisory Board and says: ‘One of RedBook’s greatest strengths since I started the firm 10 years go has been the stature and experience of our Advisory Board members. Aidan is bringing to our Board real grit and huge first-hand experience of restoration, refurbishment and building significant new houses and associated buildings – so we can give our clients even more in-depth advice on how to optimise their projects at the outset and avoid the pitfalls.’

RedBook is a specialist consultancy that helps clients and their advisers select the perfect creative and technical team for significant property projects.
